CRS Rehearsal Dates

Summer Season 2025

CRS — HERE WE GO!  

Rehearsals begin THIS Saturday!!!


Good evening, CRS Musicians (Past, Current & Future)!


THIS Saturday we will begin our Summer Regatta Pops Concert Series!  We have some new musicians coming in this season, so let’s welcome them with open arms and excitement! If you know of anyone interested in attending, please invite them, as this will be a fun and powerful season of popular music that will bring smiles to all!  The selections this season will include:

  • How to Train Your Dragon (Full Orchestra version)

  • Goonies (Celebrating the 40th Anniversary)

  • The Lone Ranger (This will be a challenging but fun piece)

  • Fanfare Forza by Brian Balmages (Intense & Powerful Fanfare Selection)

  • Victory at Sea (A 1953 award winning documentary television series…3 seasons worth…about warfare in general during World War II, and naval warfare in particular, as well as the use of industry in warfare)

  • Guardians of the Galaxy (Includes lots of memorable selections such as; ‘Marvel Studio Fanfare,’ ‘Hooked on a Feeling,’ ‘Come and Get Your Love,’ ‘Groot Cocoon,’ ‘Cherry Bomb,’ and ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’).

  • Hollywood Milestones (Many famous movie selections; ‘Back to the Future,’ ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ ‘Chariots of Fire,’ ‘Theme from E.T.,’ ‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘Jurassic Park,’ ‘Apollo 13-Main,’ ‘Raiders March,’ ‘Star Trek-The Motion Picture,’ and ‘Where Do I Begin’ - Love Theme).

  • Theme from the ‘Mandalorian’ (Theme from the hit Star Wars spin-off, and soon to be theatrical movie).  


Rehearsals will begin at 10:00am-Noon.  Please plan on arriving by 9:45am to settle in and warmup, as well as to receive your sheet music.  The rehearsal site is at the Astoria High School band room.  (1001 W Marine Dr. Astoria, OR 97103).  


Below are the rehearsal dates and Regatta Concert Date in August.


Rehearsal Dates:

  • May: 17th, 24th, and 31st

  • June: 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th

  • July:  5th, 12th, 19th, & 26th

  • August: 2nd

  • Concert Date: Saturday, August 9th (7:00pm) @ the Liberty Theatre.

    • Call Time will be 4:30pm…with warmup beginning at 4:45pm and ending by 5:45pm.

    • For those interested…we will have another parade float entry for the Astoria Regatta Land Parade, and we will most definitely be looking for musicians interested in having lots of fun, and playing on the float!  The parade is also on August 9th, and will begin around Noon.  We are also looking for people to walk beside the float to hand out concert advertisements, and candy!
